Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders have on Saturday felicitated the Christian community of Pakistan and Christians around the world on the occasion of Easter. Imran commended the contributions and sacrifices of the Christian community for the country. He said the life of Jesus Christ exemplifies brotherhood, forgiveness and tolerance and is a beacon of light for all of us.
He further said that PTI stands for religious harmony and will continue to promote religious tolerance and peace in the country. "It aims to unite people of all faiths, as the party believes that prosperity in Pakistan is most dependent on national unity," he added.
He requested the Christian community to pray for peace and progress in Pakistan. Imran also expressed a deep sorrow on the sad incident of an avalanche striking soldiers of Pakistan Army at Gayari sector, near Siachen Glacier. The unfortunate incidence resulted in missing of more than 100 soldiers, including a colonel.
The Chairman said it is a national tragedy, which has affected the families of the victims and has disturbed the entire nation."The PTI prays for the safety of these soldiers, as these brave men are assets of Pakistan. Their services for the nation are priceless, as they put their lives on stake for the safety and security of the country," he added.
Meanwhile, the PTI expressed a deep sorrow on the sad demise of the Chairman Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaaz (JSQM) Bashir Khan Qureshi. The PTI members offered fateha for the soul of the departed soil. He offered condolences to the bereaved family and followers of Bashir Khan Qureshi. According to the PTI's spokesperson, the party recognises the contributions of Bashir Khan Qureshi, as he was veteran politician and enjoyed a bid following.
