Prime Minister's statement criticised

Published Updated

Legal fraternity on Saturday criticised the statement of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. The PM has said that the judicial commission probing the memogate should also extend a video link facility to former ambassador Husain Haqqani. Former Vice President Supreme Court Bar Association, Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry commented that the process of law should not be derailed in memo case, adding that premier's statement indicated that he wanted to run the court of law according to his whims.
Another Supreme Court lawyer Hashmat Habib said that it was against the norms of constitution that the Prime Minister had delivered a statement in a sub judice matter.
