All Karachi Tajir Ittehad (AKTI) on Friday announced to call a national convention to have discussion on forming a separate chamber for small traders to solve their all long-standing issues. Talking to Business Recorder, Vice-Chairman of AKTI Jamil Paracha said the strike call against increase in petroleum prices was postponed in the wake of the city's fragile law and order situation.
However, he warned of strong protest if the hike in POL products' prices was not withdrawn. He criticised the country's big traders for not helping the small businessmen and leaving them at the mercy of criminals. He said the time had come for the small traders to form their own chamber so that they could solve their problems.
