Jamiat Ulma-e-Pakistan (JUP) provincial leader Maulana Mohammad Qasim was gunned down on Sariab Road on Friday. Police said unidentified armed men barged into the house of Maulana Qasim and opened indiscriminate fire at him. As a result he sustained several bullet wounds and breathed his last while being shifted to the hospital. The assailants managed to escape from the scene. Meanwhile, enraged JUP activists held a protest demonstration against the incident on Sariab road.
