Faysal Bank T20 Cup: Shahzaib steers Karachi Dolphins to final

Right-handed opening batsman Shahzaib Hassan's superb innings of 57 runs dragged Karachi Dolphins into the final of Faysal Bank Super Eight Twenty-20 Cup here at Rawalpindi Stadium on Saturday. Shahzaib scored 57 on just 28 balls that included 6 fours and 4 towering sixes and was declared Player of the Match.
Electing to bat, Lahore Lions amassed 167 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Kashif Siddiq was the main contributor as he scored 48 runs followed by Nasir Jamshad (36), Raza Ali Dar (22), Kamran Akmal (16) and Umar Akmal (13). For Dolphins, Tanvir Ahmed and Faraz Ahmed bagged two wickets each giving 38 and 37 runs respectively.
In reply, Karachi Dolphins, achieved the target in 19 overs. Khalid Latif was the other batsman who played a magnificent innings of 45 runs that included 5 fours and a huge six. Asad Shafiq made 22 while Sheharyar remained unbeaten on 28. For Lahore Lions, Adnan Rasool bagged two wickets for 26 runs. Left-arm medium pacer Zia-ul-Haq, who had grabbed five wickets in the last match was unable to clinch any wicket in the semi-final and conceded 19 runs in his two overs.
