Crime rate in Islamabad on the rise

Eight vehicles were stolen from different parts of the city and two dead bodies were recovered from Rawal Dam, besides killing a woman during the last week. The city police have also registered two cases each of robbery and road accident in which two persons lost their lives.
Two persons including a local employee of German Embassy were found dead in Rawal Dam in the limits of secretariat police station. Police after getting information fished out the dead bodies, which were identified as Fayaz Ali, a local officer at German Embassy and Ashram Ali.
According to initial investigation, Fayaz Ali was strangled after torture. Similarly, a woman was murdered and three cases of car lifting reported in Margalla Police Station during the last week, police said. During the week, Shahzad Town police have registered one case each of car lifting, robbery and road accident. Kohsar police station registered two cases of car lifting and Shalimar Sihala registered one case each of car lifting, whereas Koral police station registered one case of robbery during the last week.
Police source said that several car lifting gangs are operating in the city due to poor check of police. Carjackers have also invented a device, which could jam tracking system in vehicles due to which car lifting is increasing with each passing day in the city and the stolen vehicles are mostly used to facilitate heinous crimes like murders, robberies, dacoities, kidnappings and drug trafficking.
