Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Marium Nawaz Sharif has said that Punjab government is strictly working on merit and promoting the talent in the education field for the betterment of this sector. She was speaking on the occasion of laptop distribution ceremony at Lahore College for Women (LCWU) on Monday.
She said that Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif is determined to bring forward a few more programmes for the youth. More than 4,600 students of graduate and post graduate programmes received the laptops, which is the highest number of any women educational institution. Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women (LCWU) Dr Sabiha Mansoor, in her inaugural address, said that this simple but prestigious function is milestone in the history of LCWU. Such large number of laptop recipients reflects the high standard of education in this University.
Vice Chancellor said that WiFi system has been installed in the campus and students can connect the laptops round the clock with ease. Function was attended by prominent women parliamentarians Zakia Shahnawaz, Anoshay Rehman, Kiran Dar, Saba Sadiq, Raheela Khadam Hussain, Farah Deba, Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Nuzhat Amir, Begum Najma Hameed, Arfa Khalid.
Registrar Mrs Riffat Saqlain, Controller of Examination Dr Tahira Mughal, Dean Kousar Jamal Cheema, Dr Farhat Saleemi, Noshaba Farooq, students and their parents were also present.
