The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has observed that the disposal of tampered/confiscated vehicles to government/semi-government departments is an approved policy of the Federal Government. Sources told Business Recorder here on Monday that the FBR's policy on the disposal of tampered/confiscated vehicles to government/semi-government departments has been communicated to Secretary, Export Processing Zones Authority, Karachi.
According to the FBR's viewpoint, the disposal of tampered confiscated vehicles to government/semi-government departments is an approved policy of the Federal Government and no further permission from FBR is called for. Instructions based on the policy approved in this respect by Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet have already been communicated to all the provincial governments and Model Collectorates of Customs. The Export Processing Zones Authority may directly contact the relevant Collectorates/Directorate of Customs for the purchase of such vehicles for the organisation's official use, FBR added.
