The Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has demanded of the government to take stern action against acid attacks on woman. The MQM chief also urged the government to bring Bilal Khar before justice and punish him for his cowardly act.
Altaf Hussain, in a statement, strongly condemned the act of Bilal Khar, the son of former Punjab chief minister Ghulam Mustafa Khar. He also expressed grief over the incident of Fakhra's suicide.
He said that the obsolete feudal system has snatched the rights of the women and they are deprived of the right of living. They are murdered in the name of honour, if they dare to marry with their own will, they are even married with Holy Quran, which the extreme height of ignorance and illiteracy.
The MQM leader also demanded of the President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to provide justice to the victim family.
