On the recommendation of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Chief Justice of Pakistan and Chairman Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan, the Federal Government has appointed members of the Law and Justice Commission for a period of three years with effect from March 30.
According to a press release of Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan on Saturday, the following have been appointed as Members of the Law and Justice Commission Justice (Retd) Raja Fayyaz Ahmed from Balochistan, Syed Iqbal Haider, Senior Advocate Supreme Court from Sindh, former Justice Abdul Karim Khan Kundi from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and Abid Hassan Minto, Senior Advocate Supreme Court from Punjab.
According to Section 3 (1) (g) of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan Ordinance (XIV) of 1979, four members, one from each province are to be appointed by the Federal Government on the recommendations of the Chairman from amongst eminent lawyers and persons of repute and integrity from civil society.
