16th convocation of Hamdard university held

Some 1373 students were conferred degrees in their relevant disciplines at 16th convocation of Hamdard University, held here at university campus on Saturday. High achievers were also awarded gold medals for their best performances in their subjects. Addressing the convocation, Chancellor Hamdard University Senator SM Zafar congratulated graduating students.
He said Hamdard University has taken a great pride in its dedicated contribution to much needed national human capital requirements. He advised the students to foster unity in their ranks and files. Sadia Rashid, President Hamdard Foundation Pakistan said that Hakim Saeed's entire life was an intellectual journey.
She underlined that late Hakim Saeed's boldly stated his goal of producing cultured and useful citizens in these words as "It has been my endeavour to prepare Pakistani youth for challenges of tomorrow. I would like to see the youth studying at our campuses to develop the qualities of devotion, love and services to mankind". Earlier in his welcome address Vice Chancellor Hamdard University Professor Dr Nasim A Khan congratulated all students who secured degrees on this occasion in different areas of specialisation.
He said that Hamdard University has reputation to provide quality education to students of every caste and religion within its bounds to fulfil the vision of its Founder Chancellor Hakim Saeed "We stride hard to provide state-of-the-art education through laboratory-oriented and professional training in conducive environment to students for their professional developments".
He said that Hamdard University was undergoing a lot of transformation aimed at ensuring that its faculties and affiliated institutions meet all the quality standards, set by HEC and other regulatory bodies like Pakistan Medical Council, Pakistan Engineering Council, Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, National Accreditation Council for Teachers Education and Pakistan Bar Council. Advisor to CM Sindh for Board of Investment (BOI) Zubair Motiwala and others also spoke.
