Sparc holds Pakistan Day event

The 72nd Pakistan Day was celebrated with traditional zeal and spirit with patriotic songs, while floral wreaths were laid on the graves of founders of the country. In this regard, Society for Protection of Rights of Child (Sparc) Drop In Centre Rawalpindi organised a colourful event for the children enrolled in the centre as well as for other street children of the area.
Located in Pirwadai, the Drop In Centre serves as a place for non-formal education, skills training and healthy entertainment of the street children and those involved in child labour. These children are later on mainstreamed by enrolling them in government schools. Pakistan Day was celebrated by the children with spirit and zeal. They performed on national songs, delivered motivational speeches, presented an inspiring theatre performance on child labour in Pakistan. In addition drawings, quiz competitions and interesting competitions were planned for maximum active participation of the children. The drawings made by the children carried messages on Pakistan day and basic child rights.-PR
