Khyber Pakhtunkhwa evolves strategy to reinstate sacked employees

The cabinet committee constituted by the provincial cabinet for the reinstatement of the employees sacked during the government of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in 1996-97 shown consensus on their restoration and reviewed recommendations presented in this regard.
The final meeting of the committee was held here with Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour in the chair. The meeting besides, parliamentary leader PPP, Abdul Akbar Khan was attended by Secretary Law Mohammad Arfeen, Special Secretary Regulations Abdul Latif Khan, Special Secretary Finance Masood Ahmad and other officials concerned. The meeting decided that the recommendations of the committee would be presented in next meeting of the provincial cabinet and approval and their reinstatement would be made under a formal legislation in this regard.
According to the decision of the committee, 30 percent quota allocated in all future recruitment in all provincial departments and the remaining 70 percent vacancies will be filled with new youth. The process will be followed till the reinstatement of all sacked employees and they will be restored on the basis of their required merit and standard. However, in case of the matter of overage, they will be extended relaxation under formal legislation. On this occasion, it was also explained that instead of creating new vacancies, all sacked employees would be adjusted on available vacant posts.
