Three street criminals arrested

Paposh police check post on Thursday claimed to have arrested three notorious street criminals and recovered weapons and a snatched bike from their possession after a brief encounter. According to Asim Siddiqui, in charge Paposh police check post, the police party during routine patrolling intercepted three suspects riding a bike (KSB-1431) near Ashraf Community Centre located in the limits of Paposh police check post for search.
On which, the suspects opened indiscriminate firing on policemen and tried to run away. After a brief encounter, the police managed to arrest three suspects namely Fayyaz, Naveed and Noor-ul-Haq and recovered three pistols and a snatched bike from their possession.
Replying to a question, Asim said the accused during initial course of investigation confessed to have snatched some nine bikes at gunpoint besides committing over 150 street crimes including mobile snatching, looting gold ornaments and purses from female commuters.
He said the case of bike snatching (103/12) was registered in Pirabad police station on March 14, 2012 while four more FIRs (180/12, 181/12, 182/12, 183/12) were lodged against the accused persons under sections 392, 324, 34, 13-D of Pakistan Penal Code. Further investigation is in progress.
