Around 74 suspects were on Wednesday detained from various parts of the provincial capital as a preventive measure to shun any sabotage activity during Pakistan Day celebrations in the city. According to Quetta police sources, the suspects had been detained for their previous criminal record and the potential to disturb peace from Kharoatabad area.
"The law enforcement agencies have chalked out an effective security plan for the Pakistan Day celebrations on March 23," the police sources said and added that all such elements with a criminal record were being detained to avoid any untoward incident on the day. It is worth mentioning that the Balochistan Assembly had passed a resolution asking the provincial government for evolving a concrete strategy to come hard on the elements responsible for deteriorating law and order situation across the province.
