Urs of Shah Rukan Udden from March 28

The three-day 698th annual Urs of great saint of sub-continent Hazrat Shah Rukan Udden Alam Multani will commence from March 28 and continue till 30th. This was disclosed at a meeting held at the DCO office, here on Wednesday with the DCO Mudassar Riaz Malik in the chair.
The meeting was held to review arrangements for the Urs. The meeting was told that the Sajjada Nasheen of the shrine Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi would inaugurate Urs proceedings on March 28 at 9:00 am by bathing the grave of the saint. Later, a conference will be held at the shrine during with renowned scholars and clerics would spotlight the life of the saint. It was told that a large number of faithful were expected to come to Multan from across the country to attend the Urs.
Addressing the meeting, the DCO issued orders for establishment of a central control room, asking all departments to stay in touch with the control room till the end of the Urs. He directed the police officials to make foolproof security arrangements to avert any untoward incident. He asked police officers to deploy cops at all important spots of the city and install walk through gates at the shrine. He directed the district administration to fully cooperate with the police for the protection of lives and property of masses.
