Municipal limits of union councils: CDA asked to prepare proposal for extension
The Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat has asked the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to prepare a proposal for the extension of municipal limits of the existing 12 union councils of the capital.
The meeting of the sub-committee was held here on Monday which was presided over by Tariq Fazal Chaudhary and attended by Sardar Shahjan Yousaf, Mahreen Razaque Bhutto, Tahira Aurgangzeb, Tariq Mahmood Bajwa, Chairman CDA Engineer Farkhand Iqbal and all board members of CDA.
The meeting directed CDA to prepare the proposal till next meeting of the committee. "The extension of municipal limits of Islamabad would not only facilitate the residents of different union councils but also help CDA to generate more revenue," said Fazal Chaudhary.
The CDA chairman informed the meeting that the authority would compensate the affected owners of the land allocated for Park Enclave and Kuri Model village by next week. He also said that the CDA would complete tendering process of for the development of Park Enclave within two weeks.
The sub-committee expressed annoyance over delay in the development of four proposed model villages including Kuri, Malpur, Noorpur Shah and Tarli. The committee also directed CDA to solve sewerage, street lights and water shortage problems in existing model village including Rawal Town, Margalla Town, Check Shehzad and Homak town.
