Senior leaders of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), Mian Yahya Shah Kakakhel and Rahim Shah Kakakhel quit their party and rejoined PPP in a public meeting held in their residence in District Nowshera on Sunday.
Those who present on the occasion included PPP provincial president, Senator Sardar Ali Khan, Speaker, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Kiramatullah Khan, Senior Minister, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Rahimdad Khan, Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation, Liaquat Shabab, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Engineer Mohammad Tariq Khattak, Mian Muzaffar Shah, Ishaq Khattak and others.
Welcoming Yahya Shah Kakakhel and Rahim Shah Kakakhel into the PPP fold, the provincial president, Senator Sardar Ali Khan said that PPP popularity graph of PPP is on rise coming into power and victories in the elections of Gilgilt-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, By-elections in different parts of the country and recently held Senate polls.
He congratulated them on rejoining their old party and said that the PPP workers will extend the same respect and honour, which they were getting four years back.
Senator Sardar Ali said that the coalition partners of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have rendered great sacrifices for the restoration of peace and had put the province on track of progress and development. He said that with delivering fifth consecutive speech, both parliament and President Asif Ali Zardari have written a new history. He said that today press is fully independent and people enjoy the right to expression. He said that they are proud to be associated with a party whose leadership has a record history of sacrifices and under the leadership of co-chairman, President Asif Ali Zardari they are following the same mission.
Addressing the public meeting, Senior Minister, Rahimdad Khan said that the PPP government is following the politics of reconciliation and has made remarkable achievements in legislation. He said that PPP with the parliamentary strength with the support of its coalition partners has restored the original Constitution of 1973 and guaranteed provincial autonomy.
The senior minister was critical of the sarcastic remarks of Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif regarding President Asif Ali Zardari and urged them for maintaining decency in politics. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari has faced worst kind of victimisation. He said that the government has made remarkable achievements on both economic and foreign policy fronts.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Tariq Khattak said that PPP was formed for serving the cause of poor in the country and in this struggle both founding chairman, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto laid their lives. He said that the present leadership is also following the same vision. He said that since coming into power conspirators are out to dislodge the popoular elected government, but with the support of the masses all such conspiracies have been foiled. He said that he had carried out record development schemes in his constituency NA-5 and Sui gas has been provided to all 32 villages of the constituency. Earlier, in their speech, both Mian Yahya Shah and Rahim Shah regretted their decision of quitting the party, saying they have started their political carrier from the platform of PPP. However, due to differences with local leadership they quit the party.
