Australia's bulk storage of wheat grain rose by 1 million tonnes, or 3.9 percent, to 25.6 million tonnes at the end of January 2012 from the previous month, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said. Stocks of milling grade wheat grain were 17.6 million tonnes or 69 percent of grain stored, with the remaining 8 million tonnes graded for food, the ABS said in a statement dated March 9.
Total stores at end January were up 3.4 million tonnes or 16 percent on the same month a year earlier.
