Substandard food items: CDGL to cancel stall vendors' licenses

The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) has warned on Saturday that it will cancel the licenses of stall vendors of Sunday bazaars if they are found guilty of selling substandard food items, over pricing or weighing less. District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Ahad Khan Cheema said that profiteering and supply of substandard edible items in Sunday bazaars will not be tolerated.
He said the district government established Sunday bazaars for the benefit of low-income class and it is determined to provide standardised food items at cheaper rates in such bazaars, and in this connection no negligence will be tolerated. He directed the Sunday bazaar administration to further improve the arrangements in these bazaars and cancel licenses of stall vendors for selling substandard food items, less weighing and selling items at higher rate. He said keeping in view of the summer season the arrangements regarding shady places and potable water should also be made to facilitate the consumers.
