Anti-Violence Crime Cell (AVCC) and Citizen Police-Liaison Committee (CPLC) in a joint effort recovered a strangulated body of a 13-year-old captive on the information of kidnappers from Ahsanabad on Saturday. According to CPLC officials, a teenage boy, who was kidnapped more than a month ago from North Nazimabad was found strangled to death from Ahsanabad, as the suspected kidnappers confessed to have killed him just second day of abduction, despite receiving Rs 0.6 million as ransom from the victim's parents.
The tragic incident was unearthed when the team of AVCC investigators assisted by CPLC traced the series calls of kidnappers for the payment of more ransom and finally spotted them near Ahsanabad along the Super Highway. They said the victim namely Huzaifa Amir was kidnapped from outside his home located in North Nazimabad block N on January 27. The kidnappers finally contacted family on January 29 and demanded more than Rs 5 million as ransom.
The parents kept the police unaware and finalised the deal at Rs 0.6 million with the kidnappers. Under the deal agreed by the two parties, the Huzaifa father Amir Hafeez was asked to visit Kotri alone on January 4 with the amount and finally when he reached there, he got another call to return to Karachi and put the bag filled with amount on main railway tracks in Malir area, said another official associated with the AVCC. "The father followed directives and put the amount on railway tracks in Malir and returned home under the directives being conveyed to him on cell phone. He was asked to wait for his son's home return in next few hours, which never happened," he added.
After two days of the ransom payment, the worried parents finally approached the CPLC for help and narrated the ordeal. The police investigators and the CPLC were busy tracing the suspects through cell phone records, which remained unreachable till February 9 when the kidnappers called again for more ransom. They said the kidnappers kept using different numbers and location to call the parents and finally agreed on another Rs 0.6 million near Ahsanabad, located at Super Highway.
Before the victim's father handed over the amount to the kidnappers, the police intervened and arrested the two suspects Adeel and Murad and recovered two TT pistols. They said the accused persons during interrogation revealed that one of the kidnappers namely Adeel was sacked by victim's mother, who runs her boutique. They said the alleged kidnappers killed Huzaifa as he knew Adeel very well as her mother's employee and buried his body in abandoned Ahsanabad graveyard. Later, the police on the suspects' clue recovered the body. A case 86/2012 was already registered and now the kidnappers would now be nominated in it.
