The Supreme Court Wednesday summoned President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in a contempt of court proceedings as the bank failed to comply with the court orders pertaining to the restoration of its employees.
A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, comprising Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Tariq Parvez was hearing a contempt of court proceedings where counsel for NBP presented two cheques of Rs 1.5 million and Rs 2 million for two employees who were not restored in pursuance of the court orders.
