Resuming on 114-5 after fog had delayed the start of play by an hour, Bangladesh added 86 runs in the early session with Nasir completing his maiden test half-century on 76 not out.

Skipper Rahim was batting on 40 at the break as Bangladesh built a lead of 68 runs having trailed Pakistan by 18 overnight.

Pakistan were hoping for a quick kill and to push for a win that would give them a 2-0 sweep in the series, but Nasir and Rahim kept them at bay with 105 runs for the sixth wicket.

Nasir, playing his fourth test, reached his 50 with two runs off a Saeed Ajmal delivery through square leg and gave his only chance in the next over to Azhar Ali off Umar Gul.

However, Ali missed the chance at slip to give Nasir a life on 51.
