Turkish print and electronic media has given extensive coverage to the visit of Mayor Istanbul to Lahore and shown keen interest in the engagements of the Turk delegation during the last two days. The Turk media described Chief Minister Punjab as a dynamic personality with reference to the important agreements signed with Turkey for various projects and observed that he is actively engaged in the development of the province and socio-economic uplift of the masses.
The representatives of Turk media before their departure for Turkey on Tuesday described the rousing welcome extended to it as memorable and said that it showed the wide popularity of Chief Minister Punjab and his team in the people and the interest of citizens in development activities initiated in the provincial metropolis with the collaboration of Turkey.
It may be recalled that the visit of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to Turkey was highlighted by Turk media and it has also laid focus on the visit of Turk delegation to Lahore. The Turk media while reflecting the public opinion pointed out that the people are deeply interested in the development and uplift and have confidence in their leadership.
They also expressed the view that the joint ventures between Turkey and Punjab in Solid Waste Management, Bus Rapid Transit System (Metro) and other sectors will be of mutual benefit and besides economic activities will also promote brotherly relations. Turk media-men paid growing tributes to the hospitality of Lahorites. They specially referred to their shopping at important business centre of Lahore and the exhibition on Turk culture and history arranged by Information & Culture Department at Lahore Museum, which was of great historical significance. They said that they will always cherish the profound memories of the love and hospitality of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and the people of Lahore and will want to visit the city again.
