FBR to focus on five major areas of Customs Budget for 2012-2013

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) would focus on five major areas of Customs Budget for 2012-2013 including tariff rationalisation, concessionary rate of customs duty for industrial sectors, amendments in the Pakistan Customs Tariff and changes in Customs Rules, Procedures and Customs Act 1969.
Sources told Business Recorder here on Tuesday that the FBR has sought budget proposals (2012-13) from all chambers of commerce and industry, associations and trade bodies. According to the FBR's directive, the Board has invited customs related budget proposals for the year 2012-13, for amendments in the Customs Tariff, Rules and Procedures and Customs Act, 1969. Instructions for preparing and submitting the proposals are attached and are also available on FBR website (www.fbr.gov.pk) by visiting the Customs page. The proposals and findings of above analysis may be sent to the Board by March 26, 2012 via e-mail and post.
