The Karachi Port handled 82,515 tonnes of cargo comprising1 48,199 tonnes of import cargo and 34,316 tonnes of export cargo including 4,552 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 48,199 tonnes comprised of 41,024 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,919 tonnes of general cargo; 2,919 tonnes of bulk cargo and 2,337 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,316 tonnes comprised of 19,229 tonnes of containerised cargo; 60 tonnes of general cargo; 2,927 tonnes of bulk cargo and 12,100 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships with one container ship and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels with three container ships, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship are currently at the berths.
