Japan to organise "Japan Fest" to celebrate 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Japan. Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club, Ryo Ishikawa Cultural Consul Japan said that the Year 2012 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Japan, therefore it has decided to celebrate this year in a unique style.
"In this commemorative year, "Japan Fest" will be held on March 10 and 11, 2012, at the Arts Council of Pakistan, and is expected to be held as an annual event. Two days activity has many more events", he informed. However, he said that visitors need an admission pass for entry to ensure targeted audience.
"Japan Fest" is the event to introduce various kinds of Japanese cultural activities. A number of Japan-related organisations such as Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association, Sindh (PJCA), Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF), Ikebana groups (Ikebana international, Sogetsu, Ikenobo, Ohara), Pak-Bonsai Society, JICA Alumni, AOTS Dosokai, Metal Semen and Judo Martial Art groups (Judo, Karate, Jujutsu), under the full support of the Consulate General of Japan, will carry on various exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, concert and lectures, he added.
He said "Japan Fest" is a comprehensive showcase of Japanese culture and will provide a good opportunity for Pakistanis to feel many aspects of Japanese culture and its basic philosophy behind the logo mark of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations which will be used in every event throughout 2012, to promote friendship and understanding between the people of Pakistan and Japan.
