The Karachi Port handled 87,666 tonnes of cargo comprising1 66,798 tonnes of import cargo and 20,868 tonnes of export cargo including 4,855 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 66,798 tonnes comprised of 50,966 tonnes of containerised cargo; 998 tonnes of bulk cargo and 14,834 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,868 tonnes comprised of 19,176 tonnes of containerised cargo; 892 tonnes of bulk cargo and 800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely APL Chicago, OOCL Busan, Ginga Hawk, MT Quetta and Captain Adam with two container ships, two oil tankers and one bulk cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Felicitas Rickmers, Wan Hai-603, Hyundai Bangkok, Abdul Latif S and Du Juan Shan with three container ships, one bulk cargo ship and one general cargo ship are currently at the berths. A container ship namely Wan Hai-603 sailed out to sea on Monday, while two container ships namely Felicitas Rickmers and Hyundai Bangkok are expected to sail on Tuesday.
A container vessel viz Hanjin Durban due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz MT Lahore and Taban-1 with one crude oil tanker and one container ship are due to arrive on Tuesday.
As many as three ships namely MSC Jenny, Maersk Carolina and Harbour Clear with containers and edible oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of three vessels viz MSC Jenny, Maersk Carolina and Harbour Clear with containers and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday.
