Several deals have been negotiated between the traders of Pakistan and India for the import of raw materials. This was stated by Haroon Agar, former Chairman, Pakistan Chemicals and Dyers Merchant Association (PCDMA). He said opening of trade with India will have positive impact on Pakistan and import of raw material from India will help save substantial amount of foreign exchange.
Replying to a question, he said at present imports paying 1800 dollars freight charges on imports of goods from China and other countries. Freight changes on import of goods from India is only 300 dollars, he added He said in this way Pakistan will save 1500 dollars in freight charges only besides other price difference of goods.
