A bar member has filed a petition against the Senate elections before the Supreme Court at Lahore Registry. Petitioner Barrister Zafarullah Khan contended that candidates in Senate election buy the votes and used millions of rupees for this purpose. He said under these circumstances the election is clear violation of article 62 and 63 of the constitution. He therefore prayed to the court to declare the Senate elections null.
