China's state-owned enterprises last year embarked on an 80 billion yuan ($12.7 billion) five-year investment programme in Tibet, the official Xinhua News Agency reported on Saturday. According to the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, last year, state-owned enterprises had invested 40 billion yuan of the total in Tibet projects relating to electricity, water conservation, telecommunications, energy, mining and tourism.
