Targeted killings continue unabated in the city, as three more persons including two security guards of a private company were killed in separate incidents in different parts of the metropolis on Friday, pushing the death toll to 235 persons during the last two months.
According to statistics compiled by Edhi Foundation some 235 persons were killed while over 275 were injured during the period from January 1, 2012 to March 2, 2012 in the city. On Friday two bullet-riddled bodies of security guards were found from an office located in Block 4 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal in the limits of Mobina Town police station.
Police sources said the owner of the office, Salman, informed police that he had found the security guards dead inside when he opened his office at 3pm. On being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. Police said that one body was found from ground floor and the other was laying at mezzanine floor.
They said the victims, who were identified as Saleem, 20, son of Rab Nawaz and Imran, son of Ghulam Muhammad, were relatives. The bodies were sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. The victims were employees of a private security company, who were deployed in the said office for the last six months. They said the owner Salman runs commission-based business, adding that the victims might have been murdered over personal enmity.
According to hospital sources, the bodies, which were over eight hours old, received single bullet each on the heads. They said the evidences suggested that both victims were intoxicated, as they didn't offer resistance. No case was registered till filing of this report.
An estate agent was gunned down when he was going to offer Fajar prayers in Qasba colony in the limits of Pirabad police station. Police said the victim, who was identified as Abdul Qadir, 45 son of Abdul Latif, was targeted when he was going to offer Fajar prayers. Resultantly, he received fatal bullet wounds and died on spot. The deceased, father of five, was the resident of sector 5-L of the same area and hailed from Abbotabad. Police registered a case 72/12 against unknown culprits on the complaint of his relative and initiated probe.
