SHO manhandles DSP over 'Hafta' distribution

A case of police malfeasance was reported in Korangi Industrial Area where a Station House Officer (SHO) blew a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) with fists due to row over distribution of weekly collection (Hafta). According to police sources, SHO Malik Ayub after altercation with DSP Chaudary Pervaiz Akhtar over weekly collection started hitting him with fists, causing serious injures to him.
DSP Chaudary was rushed to the hospital for treatment. When contacted, SP Qadim Hussain Rind confirmed the incident, saying that both officers were suspended over their misconduct. He said a committee headed by SP Salam Sheikh has been constituted to investigate the matter. To a question, he said the bone of contention between these officers might be the distribution of weekly collection (Hafta).
