A seven-member LCCI delegation, accompanied by Ambassador of Sudan in Pakistan Al-Shafie Ahmed Mohammad, is leaving on Saturday on a five-day visit to Sudan. The delegation comprising LCCI Senior Vice President Kashif Younis Meher (head of the delegation), Husnain Reza Mirza, Mudassor Masood, Zafar Mehmood, Muhammad Usman, Muhammad Ashiq and Muhammad Irfan would have a number of high-profile meetings in Sudan.
The LCCI delegates belong to Steel, Power Generation, Leather, Finished Leather Products, Agriculture Machinery, Wire and Cables sectors. During the visit, LCCI delegation will have meetings with Governor of Khartoum, State Minister of Investment, President of State Investment, Minister of Trade & Investment, Minister of Industries, Chamber of Commerce Khartoum, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Animal Resources while visit to Department of Leather in Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Consul of Businessmen in Khartoum.
The visit will help strengthen the relations between two brotherly Muslim countries. Sudan 'the Small Continent' is named due to its many resources, which are rare in other countries. Sudan is a huge country with fertile agricultural lands. The mineral resources of Sudan which represent real support for the economy have entered the export list and have topped the list of Foreign Direct Investment attracting activities. Petroleum and mining sector of Sudan is till open for investment and whose sources and geographic areas types differ (iron, mica, manganese, copper, silver and many others) which enter into the production of construction materials such as granite and marble in addition to abundant natural resources.
