National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has introduced a new system through which applications for Pakistan Origin Card (POC) and National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) would be processed in only seven working days time.
The system has been initiated in Norway, Bahrain and Authority's Headquarters sites, which would not only expedite their applications but also keep the applicants updated through SMS alerts reading their application status till the delivery of the card at their home addresses. Pakistani expatriates are able to get their cards at their home addresses within the stipulated time period, official sources said on Friday.
The sources said for the time being this facility is available only in Oslo, Bahrain and HQ site. After the system's success and it would get effective response from the Pakistani expatriates, this facility may be expanded to other countries as well. They said authority plans to implement this solution in Germany, France, Australia, USA and Canada to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis.
Giving details, the sources said, there are three processing categories which are Executive and (07 working days), Urgent (15 to 20 working days) and Normal, which is completed in (06 to 08 weeks). They said in order to avoid any delay in processing of the application the applicants are requested to provide complete and accurate information and do not forget to provide their mobile phone number in filling out of application. The sources said there is no change in the existing application submission procedure that is given at the relevant link.
