The profit after tax of Bank Al Falah Limited has increased to Rs 3,503.130 million in the year ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 968.452 million earned in the year 2010. The bank's earning per share increased to Rs 2.60 in the period under review against Re 0.72 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the bank in its meeting held on March 1, at Abu Dhabi, UAE recommended a final cash dividend at Rs 1.75 per share ie 17.5 percent. According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the bank's mark-up/return/interest earning increased to Rs 44.298 billion in 2011 against Rs 37.530 billion in 2010 while mark-up/return/interest expenses increased to Rs 25.687 billion against Rs 23.855 billion.
The bank's total non-mark-up/interest income increased to Rs 5.367 billion in 2011 against Rs 4.708 billion in 2010 while the bank's total non-mark-up/interest expenses increased to Rs 14.215 billion against Rs 12.753 billion. The bank's profit before taxation increased to Rs 5.433 billion in 2011 as compared to Rs 1.368 billion in the year 2010.
