Safari Park: Foundation stone of 'Hathi Ghar' laid

Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corpora-tion, Muhammad Hussain Syed Sunday said that KMC has started beautification of Safari Park and acquiring more animals to attract more visitors to the place. The administrator was speaking after laying the foundation stone of "Hathi Ghar", which would be constructed at a cost of Rs 20 million, said a statement.
Syed said there is a need to pay special attention to Safari Park to develop it at par with other Safari Parks in the world.
Briefing the administrator on the occasion, Senior Director Culture and Sports, Muhammad Rehan Khan said the Hathi Ghar is being constructed at 65,000 square feet. The construction includes rest area, water-pool and 2,800 square feet sheds, to be completed within 120 days. He added that a children library is also being constructed at the park to provide them information about animals. He further said animals including Lion, Chimpanzee, Giraffe and birds would be brought to the park.
Syed informed said Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan is taking keen interest in the development of Safari Park and he has paid a detailed visit to the leisure place.
