The profit after tax of Habib Bank Limited has increased to Rs 20.741 billion in the year ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 15.613 billion earned in the year 2010. The bank's earning per share increased to Rs 18.82 in the period under review against Rs 14.17 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the bank in its meeting held here on Friday recommended final cash dividend of Rs 4.00 per share ie 40 percent in addition to the 30 percent cash dividend ie Rs 3.00 per share already paid, and bonus shares in proportion of 10 shares for every 100 shares held ie 10 percent based on the results of the year ended December 31, 2011.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the bank's mark-up/return/interest earning increased to Rs 96.447 billion in 2011 against Rs 79.999 billion in 2010. The bank's non-mark-up/interest income increased to Rs 12.088 billion against Rs 11.049 billion. The bank's mark-up/return/interest expenses increased to Rs 41.563 billion against Rs 34.090 billion. The bank's provisions and write offs reduced to Rs 7.072 billion against Rs 8.157 billion while operating expenditure increased to Rs 27.868 billion against Rs 23.743 billion. The bank's profit before profit increased to Rs 32.031 billion in 2011 against Rs 25.057 billion in 2010.
