US interference in Balochistan condemned

Published Updated

Minister of State for National Harmony, Akram Masih Gill condemned the tabling of a resolution on Balochistan in the US Congress and termed it as interference in internal affairs of Pakistan.
"Tabling of resolution on right to self-determination of the people of Balochistan in the US Congress by a US House of Representatives, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, is interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan which is unacceptable to the government and the people of Pakistan", Akram Masih Gill told APP here on Thursday.
He said the people and government of Pakistan condemn such kind of act, which is also an attack on sovereignty of an independent state. Gill said the move in the US Congress is contrary to the spirit of friendly relations and violation of the principles of the United Nations' Charter, International Law and recognised norms of inter-state conduct.
"Such kind of moves would harm Pak-US friendly relations", he remarked. He urged the US government to recognise and acknowledge the sacrifices of 40,000 people of Pakistan and the role of the country as a US ally and front line state on war against terrorism and to respect the sovereignty of Pakistan.
He added that US should also co-operative with Pakistan for bringing stability in the region. He urged the US and their congressman that instead of showing concern about the right to self-determination of the people of Balochistan, the US House of representatives and US Administration should support the inalienable right to self-determination of the people of Indian occupied Kashmir promised to them by the international community for granting UN sponsored plebiscite to the Kashmiri people.
