Production minister visits PSM

The Ministry of Production was taking concrete measures to improve the production capacity of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) and the government was also working on a plan for expansion not privatisation of mills. These views were expressed by Federal Minister for Production Chaudhry Anwer Ali Cheema, during his first visit to Pakistan Steel along with a delegation including Parliamentary Secretary for Production Dr Mehreen Razzaq Bhutto and Secretary Production Gul Mohammad Rind.
The minister said that his ministry was taking fast track actions in order to improve the financial health of Pakistan Steel. He urged upon the management to keep on working with complete dedication to increase the mill's production capacity. Acting CEO PSM, Wasif Mehmood briefed the delegation about the financial, production and future business plans of the mill.
The delegation visited some main production plants of the PSM and observed different production stages. Later, the delegation visited the central CBA secretariat where a large number of workers gave a warm welcome to them. Chairman Pakistan Steel People's Workers Union Shamshad Qureshi presented a traditional Ajrak to the Federal Minister.-PR
