Five including political activist gunned down

At-least five persons including an activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were killed in separate incidents in various parts of the metropolis, here on Thursday. According to police and eyewitnesses, Mohammad Ali, 32 son of Abdul Karim and 22-year-old Gul Bar son of Omar Faraz were targeted by unidentified armed men in Kharadar. Both received bullet injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medical treatment where Mohammad Ali succumbed to his injuries.
Police said he victim was the resident of Kharadar Square and at the time of incident, he was taking tea at a stall while Gul was the owner of the stall. They said the victim was an active worker of MQM unit 3-A Ranchore Line sector and might have been targeted on political grounds. Following the incident, tension engulfed several parts of Kharadar where all major shops and markets were closed due to the uncertain condition of the locality.
Meanwhile, SSP South Naeem Sheikh suspended SHO Kharadar Ejaz Khokar because of high crime incidents in his jurisdiction. No case was registered till filing of this report. A young man was shot dead near Hussaini Mission Imambargah in the limits of Shah Faisal Colony police station. The incident took place at Shah Faisal Colony no. 4 near Hussaini Mission Imambargah where 21-year-old Qasim Shah, son of Ghafoor Shah was assaulted when he was travelling on his motorcycle. Qasim received two bullets and died on the spot. Police said the victim was the resident of Natha Khan Goth and hailed from Haripur Hazara. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico legal formalities. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In yet another incident, a man was gunned down at Sherpao Colony in the precincts of Qauidabad police station. The victim Nosher Khan, 32 son of Akbar was sprayed with bullets when he was standing at the bus stop. He received five bullets and died on the spot. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim belonged to Mehsud Tribe and hailed from Waziristan. No case was registered till filing of this report. A bullet-riddled body of a man was found from an empty plot located in Qaimkhani Colony Baldia in the jurisdiction of Mochko police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police found the body from an empty plot at Qaimkhani Colony near Peela School Baldia. The body was shifted to CHK for medico legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue till identification. No case was registered till filing of this report. 34-year-old Essa Khan, who received bullet injuries during clash between two communities at Kashmir Colony in the limits of Mehmoodabad police station, succumbed to his injures in JPMC during treatment. Police said the victim, who was the resident of same area where the incident took place, hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
