DPC rally blasts US for interference in Pakistan's internal affairs

Scores of charged activists belonging to religio-political parties and banned outfits on Monday rallied in the Federal Capital under the banner of Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) against resumption of Nato supplies through Pakistan.
They blasted the US interference in internal affairs of the country, especially the latest resolution moved in US Congress on Balochistan. "Go America Go", "No to Nato (resumption of) supplies", "The friend of the US is a traitor" and "the friend of Zardari is a traitor" and "the friend of Karzai is a traitor", were the popular slogans of the participants who gathered at Aabpara Chowk for a planned rally against the 'resumption' of Nato supply by the government.
The participants were mainly comprised activists of Jamaat-i-Islami and other parties including Jamaat-u-Dawa (JuD) and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ), previously known as Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan. However, three prominent leaders of JuD and ASWJ Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, Maulana Ahmed Ludhianwi and Dr Khadim Hussain Dhillon did not participate in the rally after the federal government banned the entry of these leaders into the Federal Capital. Those who delivered fiery speeches included JI Amir Munawar Hassan, Chairman DePC Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, former ISI chief General Hamid Gul (Retd) and others.
Munawar Hassan in his address accused the US of planning to occupy resources of the Muslim world and also accused President Zardari of following the American agenda. He told the charged participants that US was conspiring against the integration of Pakistan while referring to resolution moved in the US House of Representatives by a congressman seeking self-determination for Baloch people.
The JI chief also announced to convene an all parties' conference on Balochistan on February 27 in Quetta, which according to him will give an assurance to Baloch people that the entire nation was standing behind them. Hassan also alleged that military operations in Swat, Buner and Waziristan were being conducted to please the US. He was also critical of Awami National Party (ANP) accusing its leadership of taking dollars and the PML-N led Punjab government for being mum.
Severely criticising the government's silence over drone attacks inside the country, he described these strikes against the country's sovereignty. Maulana Sami-ul-Haq blasted the US for intervening in Pakistan's internal affairs. He told the participants that the US wanted to break Pakistan into pieces and also warned the government against reopening Nato supplies. He urged the participants to get united to defeat the conspiracies being hatched against the Muslim Ummah in general and Pakistan in particular. He also condemned the Indian atrocities in the Occupied Kashmir.
