There is no letup in ongoing targeted killing as five more persons fell victims in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Monday. According to police and rescue sources, a watchman namely Gul Badshah Khan, 50 son of Khewa Khan was targeted when he was going to drop children to school at Mohammad Ali Society near Rangoon Wala.
They said the victim was a watchman and at the time of incident he was going to drop children at school. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico- legal formalities. Police said the relative of victim namely Zar Mohammad Khan in his statement informed that the victim hailed from Mardan Khyber Pakhtoonkwah and had serious dispute with his community. A case 71/12 was registered against unidentified men on the complaint of his relative Zar Mohammad. Later police handed over his body to Zar.
A 51-year-old man was shot dead near Qayyumabad graveyard in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The victim, who was identified as Ajmal Khan son of Wali Mohammad, was assaulted when he was on the way home located in the slum area of Qayyumabad. He received single bullet on his head and died on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. Police said the victim was labour by his profession and hailed from Afghanistan.
Police suspected that he might have been murdered over personal ground and added that he was the father of two. Later police handed over his body to the heirs. In another incident, a man was gunned down at Medina Town situated in Bin Qasim area in the limits of Shah Latif police station. Police said the incident took place at Medina Town near Abbas Mohalla, where 28-year-old Asfand Yar Khan son of Waris Khan was targeted when he was on the way to Abbas Mohalla in his taxi to meet someone. When he reached Medina Town two unknown armed men tried to stop his taxi.
On his refusal, they sprayed his taxi with bullets. Resultantly, he received single bullet on his neck and died on the spot. A teenage boy lost his life by stray bullets in his apartment Compound near Karimabad in the precincts of Azizabad police station. The victim, who was identified as Mirza Moin Baig, 16 son of Mirza Arshad Baig, was hit by stray bullet when he was sitting along with his friend in the compound of Shakeel Corporation near Karimabad. He received fatal bullet wounds and died on spot. Police shifted him to ASH for legal formalities. Police said the victim was an intermediate student and according to the area people, he lost his life by stray bullet.
A young man was killed while other sustained bullet injuries when they offered resistance during robbery bid near UBL Sports Complex in the precincts of Yousuf Plaza police station. The incident took place at Kashti Chowk situated at block 16 F B Area near UBL Sort Complex where two labours namely Jumma Khan, 20 and Abdul Basit, 18, were intercepted by two armed robbers when they were on the way to home located in Macchar Colony Sohrab Goth area from works.
They said the victims offered resistance when the bandits tried to snatch their mobile phones and money. Resultantly both received bullet injuries. Police shifted them to ASH for treatment where Jumma Khan succumbed to his injuries. Police registered an FIR 27/12 against unidentified men on the complaint of Abdul Basit and initiated probe in this regard.
