The World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-Pakistan) organised its Annual Travelling Nature Carnival at Race Course Park, in partnership with the MCB Bank. The objective of the event was to motivate and involve youth and general public in valuing the rich natural heritage of Pakistan, and supporting conservation initiatives.
The Nature Carnival was attended by around 15,000 people. There were 100 stalls set up by school, universities and commercial entities. WWF - Pakistan Director Operation, Anwar Naseem pointed out that through this Nature Carnival environmental messages can be conveyed to the large number of audience.
He further said that children are the stewards for change they should be equipped with conservation practices. Kamran Rasool, (Group Head CSR) of MCB Bank was the special guest at the event. He said that MCB Bank in partnership with WWF-Pakistan is proud to be part of the carnival and hopes to make the young generation of Pakistan an environmentally sensitive generation and a guardian of our natural resources.
He said that the MCB Bank is conscious of its responsibility to the society, and the evidence of this is the new head quarters premises of the bank that is a model of energy conservation and clean environment. Similarly, he said, the Nishat Group has established its industries based on pollution free productive activities and the group proudly boasts of having installed the largest water treatment plant in its textile processing unit.-PR
