Flood 2010 washed away 219 wildlife species

A total of 219 different species of wildlife of value Rs 7.05 million from Kund Park, district Nowshera have been washed away in the devastated flood of July 2010. This has been stated in a written reply to a question submitted by deputy parliamentary leader JUI-F, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Mufti Kifayatullah.
According to the details provided to the members of the House, installation of wildlife included cages were partially damaged in the flood and also washed away wildlife kept in them.
The statistics said that 37 spotted deers value Rs 3.7 million, 28 black bucks worth Rs 1.4 million, 6 hog deers worth Rs 4,20000, 4 Chinarka deers worth Rs 1,60,000, 2 common leopard worth Rs 0.4 million, 21 blue java peacocks worth Rs 0.42 million, 19 while peacocks worth Rs 0.190 million, 8 black shoulder peacocks worth Rs 0.Rs 0.160 million, 5 silver pheasants worth Rs 20,000, 23 ring necked pheasants worth Rs 23,000, 14 broody hens worth Rs 7000 and 50 eggs of wild birds worth Rs 5000.
