Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 80,869 tonnes of cargo comprising1 46,600 tonnes of import cargo and 34,269 tonnes of export cargo including 2,734 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 46,600 tonnes comprised of 15,106 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,188 tonnes of general cargo; 6,381 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,006 tonnes of wheat; 4,375 tonnes of canola seeds and 23,925 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,269 tonnes comprised of 24,456 tonnes of containerised cargo; 420 tonnes of general cargo; 6,393 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 3,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Bravo, Wan Hai-602, Maribel, Tabernacle Prince and King Hero with two container ships, one oil tanker, one bulk cargo ship and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz APL Brisbane, Helsinki, UASC Sharjah, DL Ace and Wo Long Song with three container ships, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely APL Brisbane, UASC Sharjah, DL Ace and Shoko Maru with two container ships and two oil tankers sailed out to sea on Thursday, while two ships namely Helsinki and Marcampania with one container ship and one oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Five vessels viz YM Fuzhou, Emirates Yangtze, Stolt Snfland, Grate Eternity and Xiang An Cheng with two container ships, one chemicals carrier, one steel coils carrier and one general cargo ship respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while five vessels viz APL Sharjah, Kota Arif, YM Taichung, Constancy and MT Lahore with three container ships, one ethanol ship, and one crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

The total import cargo of 23,236 tonnes includes 7,400 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,021 tonnes of urea and 10,815 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 8,965 tonnes includes 1,510 tonnes of cement and 7,455 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container vessel viz CV CMA CGM Chopin sailed out to sea on Thursday morning. A total number of four CV CMA CGM Chopin, MV Florida-II, MV STX Daisy and MV Estia are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely Arrilah, Nicolie Maersk, Safmarine Ngami, NYK Kai and Lion with urea, containers and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of three container vessels viz CV Nicolie Maersk, CV Safmarine Ngami and CV NYK Kai are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal respectively on Thursday.
