The Swiss franc tracked the euro higher against the dollar on Wednesday as China said it would continue to buy eurozone debt and hopes rose that Greece would enact stiff reforms to curb its debt load, firming up support for the single currency. The franc has continued to trade in a narrow band against the euro since the Swiss National Bank set a cap of 1.20 francs to the euro on September 6 to try and halt the rapid appreciation of the safe-haven swissie.
The franc rose 0.4 percent against the dollar compared to the New York close, and traded at 0.9165 francs to the dollar. The franc was unchanged against the euro at 1.2075 francs to the euro.
