The Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition seeking directions to bar the Punjab government from reviving 'Pak Tea House'. The court while dismissing the petition, observed that Pak Tea House was a place used by city intellectuals for gathering and it could not be closed.
The petition was filed by Zahid Hassan submitting that the shop/place known as Pak Tea House was leased out to his father in 1947 by the government and after his death the lease was transferred to him. He submitted that now the Punjab Government announced plan to reopen the Pak Tea House which was against the law as the shop had been leased out to him.
