The rupee drifted lower versus dollar on the currency market on Tuesday in process of trading, dealers said. The rupee shed three paisa against dollar for buying at 90.87 and came down after losing four paisa for selling at 90.90, they said.
The BoJ boosted its asset buying and lending scheme by 10 trillion yen ($130 billion), to 65 trillion yen, with the entire increase to be used for purchases of long-term Japanese government bonds (JGBs).
Interbank buy/sell rates for taka against dollar on Tuesday: 83.07-83.40 (previous 83.40-83.85) Call Money Rates: 12.00-20.00 percent (previous 08.50-20.00 percent). The dollar was trading versus the Indian rupee at Rs 49.32, the greenback was against the Malaysian ringgit at 3.0460 and the US currency was available at 6.2997 in terms of the Chinese yuan.

According to dealers, the dollar closed higher at Rs 90.90 and Rs 91.20 as buying and selling rates against overnight Rs 90.65 and Rs 90.85, respectively. However, the rupee appreciated on selling side against pound sterling, which was purchased and sold at Rs 142.20 and Rs 143.00 against Monday's Rs 142.20 and Rs 143.20, respectively, dealers said.
The dollar opened at Rs 91 (buying) and Rs Rs 91.20 (selling) against Rs 90.50 (buying) and Rs 90.70 (selling). It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 91 (buying) and Rs 91.20 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 142 (buying) and Rs 142.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 142 (buying) and Rs 142.50 (selling).
