The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of capital police arrested two women and their accomplice on Monday for snatching gold ornaments from lady passengers and also nabbed five other persons for possessing two pistols, one repeater gun and wine.
CIA Incharge Bashir Ahmed Noon constituted a special team to trace out persons involved in depriving passengers, using public transport, of their valuables.
The team headed by Sub-Inspector Tehseen, Assistant Sub Inspector Zafar Iqbal and Tarir Rauf along with lady police succeeded in arresting two women namely Safia Bibi, Shamim Bibi and their accomplice Ejaz, a police official said.
Police had initially recovered gold ornaments worth Rs. 300,000 including golden rings, bangles and other jewellery from them, he said. CIA police team also arrested Qaisar Mehmud, Dilawar Masih, Bakht Khan, Fazal Mehmud, Abdul Qayum and recovered 44 wine bottles, 235 gram hashish, two pistols and one repeater gun from them.
